FAQs

What are the planters made out of?

Currently The Plant Honey offers fibreglass and fibreclay planters. Fibreglass planters are made out of plastic that has been reinforced with glass fibre making the planter incredibly lightweight. They are strong, durable, and very hard to break! Fibreclay planters are the new edition to The Plant Honey, they are made out of waste pulp fibre combined with clay and composite and are much more environmentally friendly. They are extremely sturdy, and although not as lightweight as fibreglass planters, they are still lightweight in comparison to traditional concrete or cement planters and many others.

What sizes do the planters come in?

The Plant Honey is still very new to the pot painting world, therefore my size ranges are still quite small. Currently the sizes I offer for fibreglass planters are 17x17cm, and fibreclay planters of 25x20cm. I will have definitely more sizes and shapes in the near future!

Can my planters live outdoors?

They certainly can! However, to ensure the longevity of the paint, I would still recommend to have them indoors instead of outdoors, unless the planter lives in a shaded area away from harsh sun and rain.

Do the planters have drainage holes?

Yes they do! They are perfectly safe to have your plant live directly in it, although I would recommend to treat it as a decorative planter, and have your plant in a nursery pot before placing your plant in your planter. This way, it is much easier to clean and change up your plants whenever you like!

How do I clean my planters?

To clean your The Plant Honey planters, use a damp cloth to wipe the exterior and the interior of the planter.

What paint do you use?

I only use professional, high quality interior/exterior paint. Yes, the ones you use to paint your walls! They're extremely durable and should stand the test of time!

How long does it take to paint each pot?

It depends on the size of each planter. Generally a smaller size can take between 3-5 hours, and a larger size can take between 5-8 hours. However, it takes much longer to prep the surface to ensure they are ready for a smooth surface painting. I'm saying about 2 days!

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Please allow an estimate time between 1.5 to 2 weeks from the time of your order for it to arrive. Your orders will be packed on the day or the next day from the time of your order and will be dispatched within 1-2 days of your order. Orders made on Fridays-Sundays will be dispatched on Monday. You will receive a tracking number once it has been dispatched.

Do you ship outside of Australia?

Unfortunately I cannot ship internationally! Due to the size and weight of the parcel, it can be very costly to ship overseas. I also cannot risk the planters breaking in between shipments and being handled by multiple people in multiple postal services. Because of this, I have no way of ensuring that the planters will arrive safely to you in one piece nor in a timely manner.

Do you do custom orders?

Due to the amount of hours that goes into painting each planters and orders, I cannot do custom orders at this moment in time. However, this is something that I am willing to consider in the near future!
